Important Things To Do Before Flashing Stock ROM:

  • Prepare your USB Cable, PC, STOCK ROM or Firmware Files (Download Below).

    • you can flash the new official Lollipop firmware over custom ROMs, too, but you will have to Factory Reset the device after the update is done.
    • the Factory Reset will wipe clean system partition, it removes the custom ROM, but it won’t delete any files from internal storage.

    • If the phone is running 100% official Android firmware, then you can continue straight to the next part of this post.

    How to Flash Samsung Galaxy J2:
    Step 1: Download the Odin software and the J2 Prime firmware for your set , See downloads section above. 

    Step 2: Extract Android firmware file.

    Step 3: Extract Odin file.

    Step 4: Switch off your Galaxy J2 from PC, boot it into download mode. To achieve this, wait for six to seven seconds after screen goes off, and long press Volume Down + Power + Home buttons until warning screen is displayed. Then press, Volume Up to proceed to download mode.

    Step 5: Interface your phone to PC using USB cable. In Odin you should see an "Added" message appearing in the Log box at the bottom left, and the first box under ID:COM will also change its background colour to Blue.

    Step 6: Load firmware into Odin. To achieve this, Click on the AP button on Odin and the select the .tar.md5 extracted file as explained in Step 3.

    Step 7: Within Odin, check to ensure that Re-partition checkbox is deselected,

    Step 8: Within Odin, select Start Button to start flashing the firmware on your tablet.

    Step 9: After completion of installation, your Galaxy J2 will reboot automatically. You'll get a "Pass" message upon successful installation from Odin.

    Step 10: Disconnect your tablet from the computer. Navigate to Settings > About Device to verify installation of new firmware.
