  1. Download the Eng-root tool for the S8 SM-G950U on Android 7.0  HERE G950U_ENG_ROOT_7.0.rar .
  2. Extract the G950U’s rooting package to the desktop of the computer.
  3. Double-click on the Odin executable file that is on the desktop.
  4. Connect the Samsung Galaxy S8 G950U smartphone to the computer with the USB cable when you have it in the download mode.  
  5. Boot into Galaxy S8 Download mode by pressing and holding Volume Down and Home keys.
  6. While pressing these, hold the Power key too.
  7. Release all three buttons when Samsung Galaxy S8 screen flickers and you see the logo.
  8. Once in Download mode, you will have to Press Volume Up To proceed to Root file flashing.
  9. Check that you get a blue or yellow ID: COM port color coming from the Odin user interface which is there to let you know that your device is detected.

  11. Do not change any of the default settings from the Odin user interface.
  12. Click the Start button and wait until the Odin user interface gives you a green pass message inside a box.
